Help clean up the beautiful Rogue River! Check In: All participants can either pre-register or register on-site. At check-in participants will provide their contact information and will receive information including: river maps, procedures for dumping locations, after party info. They will also receive gloves, trash bags and a choice of either a free hat or t-shirt which commemorates the event. (Pre-registration is preferred so that we have an idea of how many people to expect for the bbq lunch!) Clean Up: Participants can choose how they will participate, whether it is driving to locations to walk along the river bank, or take their rafts in the water to float and pick up trash. Designated trash drop locations are available at a variety of locations so that participants can continue to collect more than their transportation method allows: Designated Trash Drop Locations: Locations are spread out throughout the Josephine County portion of the Rogue. Locations include: Whitehorse Park, Matson, Griffin Park, Robertson Bridge, Hog Creek, Indian Mary Park, Ennis, Galice, Rand, Argo and Grave Creek (See Site Map). Trash is transported back to one centralized location where all rubbish is evaluated and removed, a final amount of rubbish in cubic yards is recorded for each year. In 2016, 10 yards of trash was recovered from the river, with an additional 2 yards of metal and 2 yards of co-mingle sorter recyclables. 130 tires were also removed from the river and recycled by Les Schwab. After Party: When participants have completed their portion of the river cleanup, they are encouraged to join the after party, where participants are thanked with food, entertainment, and a free raffle.
