To all lovers of our Intertwine –
It is now 10 years since Mike Wetter first embraced the glorious vision that a squirrel should be able to travel from Gresham to Hillsboro without setting foot on the ground.
It's been more than six years since Mike officially launched The Intertwine Alliance, challenging us all to better connect our region’s parks, trails, natural areas and working landscapes, Intertwining them to fully leverage these major civic investments in visionary, sustainable ways.
Since then, Mike’s contributions have been manifold. His legacy endures.
Mike now has determined that the timing is right – he calls it an “inflection point” – for our Alliance to reassert its mission, settle upon a reinvigorated strategic plan ... and recruit fresh leadership.
So please join us Wednesday, Feb. 7, as we raise a glass, thank him for his astonishing contribution to our cause, and launch him on the next stage of his endeavors, a chapter we suspect will include a lot more close encounters of the whitewater kind.
We will also announce our interim executive director and share preliminary ideas about the transition process and timeline.
The hosted food and beverage reception will go from 4 to 6 p.m., with remarks at 5 p.m.
We hope to see you there!
