PROJECT UPDATES

Sept. 3, 2016 -- Metro Councilors unanimously endorsed the national designation of the Tualatin Water Trail in on Thursday. Councilors Dirksen and Hughes mentioned their close relationships to the river since childhood, and Kathleen Brennan Hunter praised Tualatin Riverkeepers for its equity, diversity and inclusion work, which has brought new communities to our treasured river.

Aug. 31, 2016 -- We just received the endorsement of the Oregon State Trails Coordinator. Tomorrow at 2 p.m., the Metro Council will take up the final endorsement needed to submit the application for National Water Trail status to the National Parks Service. Come on down to the Metro Regional Center to cheer them on.

Aug. 18, 2016 -- Last night the Hillsboro City Council passed a resolution endorsing the National Water Trail designation for the Tualatin River. Next summer Hillsboro Parks and Recreation will do a $350,000 upgrade to the launch site at Rood Bridge Park that will extend the ramp to the river, have a seasonal floating dock and make access easier for people with disabilities.
