Dear partners and friends,
On behalf of the Board of Directors of The Intertwine Alliance, I am thrilled to share some exciting news — we have a new Executive Director. Warren Jimenez will lead the Alliance starting October 22.
With 20 years of city government and nonprofit experience, Warren joins us with an ideal background for this role. He most recently served as the National Urban Conservation Finance Director at the Trust for Public Land, where he advised city leaders about how to create funding to ensure there’s a great park within a 10-minute walk of every person, in every neighborhood, in every city across America. Working with communities from Lynnwood, WA, to Denver, CO, he supported their aspirations for creating and sustaining parks, trails and natural areas that inspire and engage them.
Prior to that experience, Warren served as the Assistant Director at Portland Parks & Recreation. In this role, Warren was a champion and manager of the bureau’s strategic plan, directed the development of the budget, and engaged teams to promote diversity, equity and inclusion.
Warren understands the dynamics of smaller communities, as well as those of cities like Portland. He arrives with a fresh, direct perspective about how The Intertwine Alliance can continue to deliver on our mission. His rare combination of nature smarts and a commitment to innovative and strategic solutions, along with his deep understanding of public service, will serve the greater Portland-Vancouver metropolitan region.
Please join us in welcoming Warren to the coalition. The Intertwine Alliance board and staff are so excited about what the future holds.
With warm regards,
Kathleen Brennan-Hunter
