Interested in the animals that live on Mt Hood? Love to snowshoe? Join the Wolverine Tracking Project and help search for rare carnivores and other wildlife on Mt Hood. Develop animal tracking skills, enjoy group trips in a winter wonderland, and help increase knowledge of rare wildlife.

There are 5 sets of training dates to choose from. Survey trips take place all winter long. Choose one classroom and one field session. If you are new to tracking, it will be very helpful to attend the classroom session before the field session.

Classroom Session #1: Tuesday, Nov 1, 6:30-8:30pm

Classroom Session #2: Thursday, Nov 10, 6:30-8:30pm

Classroom Session #3: Wednesday, Nov 16, 6:30-8:30pm

Classroom Session #4: Monday, Nov 21, 6:30-8:30pm

Classroom Session #5: Wednesday, Nov 30, 6:30-8:30pm

Classroom session location: Cascadia Wild, 5431 NE 20th Ave, Portland, inside Redeemer Lutheran Church. Located on the corner of NE Killingsworth and 20th.

Field Session #1: Sunday, Nov 6, 9am-noon

Field Session #2: Sunday, Nov 13, 9am-noon

Field Session #3: Saturday, Nov 19, 9am-noon

Field Session #4: Saturday, Nov 26, 9am-noon

Field Session #5: Saturday, Dec 3, 9am-noon

Field session location: Oxbow Park. Oxbow Park has a large, sandy floodplain where there are always lots of tracks to see. We will meet at the Flood Plain, the first parking lot on the left after you enter the park. There is a $5 parking fee at Oxbow Park. Informal carpools to Oxbow meet at the Cascadia Wild office. Be prepared to be outside and off-trail the entire time.

Cost:

$65 for entire winter season
