Join the Tualatin Riverkeepers & Tualatin Soil & Water Conservation District for:
- Guided paddle trip on the Tualatin River
- Weed Watchers online webinar class on the Thursday prior (July 24) from 6-8pm
Increase your awareness of the invasive weeds considered to be of greatest concern and train to be a floating botanist, able to identify these invaders in local natural areas and along streams and rivers as you drive, hike, bike, and paddle. Add valuable knowledge to your repertoire of facts, natural history, river lore, and conservation information that you can share.
The online webinar class introduces invasive species control, the weeds of greatest concern, and how to identify these plants from live samples. You’ll receive a handy weed ID guide, which includes information on how and where to report infestations. Interested in the online workshop, but can’t make the paddle? Email erik@tualatinriverkeepers.org and we’ll send you the link for the workshop!
The paddle trip will provide an opportunity to identify these problem species in the field, discuss control strategies, and paddle with friends!
The online workshop will take place the Thursday evening (July 24) before the paddle. When you sign up, a link will be emailed to you for that class. We will meet on the morning of the trip at 9:00am and finish by 12:30pm. If you are bringing your own boat, please arrive early to have your gear ready.
