Learn about what's happening in the Portland-metro region with ecological research and programs!
The Urban Ecology and Conservation Symposium features two keynote presenters:
Dr. Leslie King, MD, MPH, MEM. Commissioner, OR Department of Fish and Wildlife. Instructor, lecturer, and facilitator in environment justice. Dr. King will present Vulnerability & Injustice: Visualizing Environmental Health Impacts.
Gabe Sheoships, Executive Director Friends of Tryon Creek. With a background in fisheries ecology, Gabe has spent two decades focused on the forests, waterways, and mountains of the Columbia River Basin. Gabe is a co-founder of the Oregon Land Justice Project, and a board member of Ecotrust.
We will also have an array of brief presentations from your colleagues in the Portland-Metro region, plus lunch-time discussions, poster presentations, a social gathering at the end of the symposium, and more. There will be plenty of opportunities to network, meet your peers, and learn from each other.
