Come join Columbia Slough Watershed Council and Portland Parks & Recreation as we plant native trees and shrubs at one of our favorite urban natural areas, Whitaker Ponds Nature Park!
This event is rain or shine! We provide gloves, tools, plants, and planting instructions. Please dress comfortably for the weather, bring water, wear sturdy shoes and long pants, and in case of rain, bring rain gear!
For COVID-19 safety, this event is capped at 25 participants. You must register using the form linked below and specify each guest you will be bringing. Face coverings are required when social distancing is not possible. Please stay home if you are feeling sick. Thank you for helping us keep our community safe!
Planting native plants helps filter and cool storm water, prevent erosion and sedimentation, prevent the encroachment of invasive plants, and provide native wildlife habitat! Thank you for helping care for the Columbia Slough watershed!
Accessibility: This event will involve bending and stooping to dig and plant on soft, uneven ground. There is a portable restroom at this location.
