The Columbia Slough Watershed Council is hosting a benefit event on Friday, April 23rd - the Slough Celebration: DIY House Party! True to pandemic-protocol form, we are doing things differently this year and have created a ‘build-your-own’ evening of virtual entertainment so that everyone can have fun wherever they may be while supporting the metro area’s hidden gem: the Columbia Slough.

Individuals will have the chance to customize their party experience by ordering food and drink to be delivered to their doorstep, get tickets to livestream music from two Portland-based bands including Wren and Matices Latin Ensemble, and, then, if ready to dance more, join an online afterparty with DJ Mr. Mom!  All of the proceeds go right to helping to protect and enhance the Columbia Slough through equity-led community engagement, education, and restoration.

We've partnered with Vibrant Table Catering, a Portland-based catering service, to prepare and deliver  3-course meals to your doorstep. Local breweries and wineries have generously donated libations for the evening including HopWorks and Andrew Rich Wines. As for the music, Wren, a Soul/Pop band will open up the night, followed by Matices Latin Ensemble. Lastly, we figured it wasn't a true House Party without a DJ set so we asked DJ Mr. Mom to spin a variety of the best 90's Hip-Hop to today's top Billboard hits!

Tickets are on sale now at www.ColumbiaSlough.org/DIYhouseparty.
