Get Outdoors and Make a Difference

Work alongside others at the beautiful Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge! You will play a key role in helping biological staff keep wetlands healthy by searching for and removing invasive ricefield bulrush. You will also have opportunities to learn about native wildlife management and view amazing wetland wildlife.

Perks of joining us:

*Explore areas of the refuge not usually accessible to visitors

*Learn about the local wildlife and environment

*Snacks, good company, and outstanding scenery

*Know you are making a difference in restoring habitat for native wildlife.

Other details: First time volunteers should arrive a few minutes early for paperwork at the visitor kiosk on the River S Unit of the Refuge. Dress for the weather, bring waterproof boots (some available on-site). Rain or shine! We provide training, gloves, snacks, and water. Volunteers under 18 must have registration form signed by a parent/guardian, under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers should be at least 12 years old.

Registration

Pre-registration is encouraged, but not required. Contact Lindsey at Ridgefieldbulrush@gmail.com
