This meeting will be split into two sessions, with a transition in between that we hope everyone will attend.

The gathering is designed for individuals and organizations actively working on creating pollinator habitat and/or designing for community engagement in pollinator habitat projects. If you are new to pollinator work, you are welcome to attend and be part of the conversation, but we will not be providing a lot of background information.

This will be a facilitated discussion; Thank you to Jalene Littlejohn for offering her facilitation skills.

Please RSVP so we will know how many people to expect at each session.

AGENDA

Session 1: 12:30- 2:00 p.m.

Pollinator- focused habitat enhancement: natural areas, public parks, schools and other public spaces

Discussion on developing a framework for BMPs (and questions to consider)

What resources do you use to implement project components?

How does scale make a difference in the decisions you make, or resources you need?

Successes and challenges?

What do you need to be more successful?

What questions do you have?

Joint Session: 2:00- 2:30 p.m.

Sharing of projects in the Portland Metro area

What projects are you working on?

Where are you working?

What is the primary goal of the project?

How does that benefit pollinators?

Session 2: 2:30- 3:30 p.m.

Designing for community engagement with a focus on connecting with food resources (community garden, orchards, multi-purpose landscapes)

Looking at:

Public buy-in and participation
