Looking for a fun way to give back? Interested in exploring new areas of the Portland-Metro area? Love being outside and getting your hands in the soil? If you answered yes to any of those, Friends of Trees encourages you to join us as we plant native trees and shrubs at Chastain Creek in Gresham! This site is along the 87 bus line and is a serene, woody area perfect for planting.
When: Saturday, January 7th, 9am-12pm (Please arrive around 8:40am to be assigned a crew and enjoy some free breakfast snacks and hot coffee/tea--planting starts promptly at 9am with a safety demonstration) All activities wrap up around 1pm.
Where: Chastain Creek, 2145 SW Towle Ave, Gresham, OR 97080 --look for Friends of Trees signs as you get close
Groups of Planters Welcome: We love a planting posse! If your group is 5 or more volunteers, use the Registration button below to sign up your group. If you are fewer than 5, no need to register--just show up in time to enjoy those breakfast treats!
We provide gloves, tools and guidance--no tree care experience needed! Be sure to come dressed for the weather: sturdy closed-toe shoes, rain-resistant layers you don’t mind getting dirty, and a hat are highly recommended. If you have any questions or need further information, please don't hesitate to be in touch with our Volunteer & Outreach Program at 503-5[nine]5-0213. We hope to see you there!
