Friends of Trees invites you to join us this Saturday, April 15th, for our FINAL planting event of the season! We will be planting ~200 street and yard trees in the Portland neighborhoods of Creston-Kenilworth, Foster-Powell, Mt. Scott-Arleta, and Reed! This event is a make-up date due to harsh weather conditions earlier in the season and we need your help to make it a success! No planting experience necessary--we have trained Crew Leaders, work gloves, and tools provided to all of our volunteers!
When: THIS Saturday, April 15th; 9am-1pm
Where to Meet: Mt. Scott Learning Center, 6148 SE Holgate Blvd, Portland, OR 97206 (look for Friends of Trees signs to guide you as you get close!)
Please arrive at the staging site between 8:40-8:45am to be assigned a crew and enjoy some free breakfast treats and hot coffee/tea to fuel up. The planting starts promptly at 9:00am and concludes around 1pm with a delicious potluck lunch provided by neighbors and local businesses! Although we provide the tools and guidance, we encourage our volunteers to show up dressed for the weather and wearing closed-toe sturdy shoes. We recommend rain pants, a rain jacket, warm layers, and a hat that you don’t mind getting a little muddy!
Groups Welcome! If you have a group of 5 or more volunteers, simply follow the registration instructions in this post. We will make sure you are assigned to the same planting crew!
