Looking for a way to give back to your community? Interested in exploring new areas of Portland? Love being outdoors even if there’s some rain and mud? If you answered yes to any of those, you should absolutely join us as we plant native trees and shrubs at Kelly Butte in SE Portland! This site is easily accessible from the Max Green Line and the 4 Bus line.
When: Saturday, Dec 10th, 9am-12pm (Please arrive around 8:40am to be assigned a crew and enjoy some free breakfast snacks and hot coffee/tea--planting starts promptly at 9am with a safety demonstration); planting activities wrap up by 1pm.
Where: Kelly Butte, 2850 SE 103rd Ave, Portland, OR 97266 --look for Friends of Trees signs as you get close
Groups of Planters Welcome: We love a planting posse! If your group is 5 or more volunteers, use the Registration button below to sign up your group. If you are fewer than 5, no need to register--just show up in time to enjoy those breakfast treats!
We provide gloves, tools and guidance--no tree care experience needed! Be sure to come dressed for the weather: sturdy closed-toe shoes, rain-resistant layers you don’t mind getting dirty, and a hat are highly recommended. If you have any questions or need further information, please don't hesitate to be in touch with our Volunteer & Outreach Program at 503-5[nine]5-0213. We hope to see you there!
