Join Finding Mindful Now in a walk that gives back to the parks we love! In celebration of our innate wholeness we’ll avoid the consumer crowds and walk outside to pick up litter as a thank you and then do a short mindfulness walk (optional).
The first hour we’ll be walking and picking up trash as we encounter it to leave the area a little less dangerous to wildlife and domesticated life (like us) who use it. We’ll have trash bags, gloves, pick sticks and sharps containers (hopefully we won’t need those) from the City of Portland’s volunteer department. We'll go over a safety talk in the first 10 minutes about proper use of equipment and how to stay safe on the trails. If we run out of trash in the park proper we'll head on the multi use path up toward Oaks Bottom Amusement park and continued gathering there.
The second hour I’ll provide a shortened guided mindfulness walk in the main portion of the park that includes sitting on the dock to watch the Willamette's water ripples – dress accordingly! Please look over the FAQ section of the Mindfulness Walks page to know what to expect.
Space is limited to 12 people (ages 16 and over welcome with guardian and parent, all participants must sign a liability waiver to participate). Some trails/portions of the park are ADA accessible, please let us know if you would like accommodations so we can plan ahead.
