Join us to save trees and protect water quality on Silk Creek and the Coast Fork Willamette River! On October 29th, the Coast Fork Willamette Watershed Council (CFWWC) and the City of Cottage Grove will host an ivy-pulling work party at Silk Creek Park in Cottage Grove. If left unchecked, English ivy will climb and kill trees. Trees along river and streambanks are essential to water quality and a healthy riparian zone. The CFWWC needs your help in removing this invasive species from local streams and rivers! The CFWWC will provide tools, water, snacks and gloves. Bring your refillable water bottle. This event is rain or shine. Silk Creek Park is located at the intersection of Old Mill Place & South River Road in Cottage Grove, across the creek from the Old Mill Farm Store. If you are unable to attend but want to show your support, please consider making a donation to the Coast Fork Willamette Watershed Council. To make a donation or for more information, you may call our office (541) 767-9717 or visit our website http://coastfork.org/about-us/make-a-donation Activities include: Invasive Plant Removal, Litter Cleanup.
