Join Johnson Creek Watershed Council and @portlandparks Portland Parks & Recreation for a day of pulling, cutting, and removing ivy and other invasive plants!
When: Saturday 29 October from 9am - 12 noon
Where: Foster Floodplain Natural Area parking lot: SE Foster Road & SE 104th Avenue
No Ivy Day is a city-wide event hosted by Portland Parks & Recreation every year since 2003. English ivy is one of the most widespread invasive weeds in the metro area. It strangles trees and drives out the native plants that keep our watershed healthy.
Instructions, tools, gloves, coffee/tea, water, snacks and an on-site portable toilet will be provided. Bring a filled water bottle and a snack and coffee mug, if you have one! This event will happen rain or shine, so dress for weather: rain coat, warm layers, sun hat, and sunscreen as necessary. Wear sturdy shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty.
RSVP is required! RSVP at https://www.jcwc.org/events/no-ivy-day-at-foster-floodplain/
