Ocean Blue Project focuses on cleaning the ocean and creating awareness to reduce the use of plastic. We are collecting microplastic fragments on every visit to the Oregon Coast year round. This project is a community effort and all Oregonians are asked to participate. If we all do a little, we can achieve a lot.

Documentary Film: "Do It For The Beaches"

Ocean Blue Project will be filming and interviewing volunteers in an ethnographic study about thoughts of marine debris. The documentary will highlight beach debris picked up at each beach cleanups across on the West Coast, Midwest, and East Coast during the National Beach Cleanup Tour 2018.

Our goal is to publish a short film about beach cleanups, marine debris found on beaches, and where the debris are coming from. The documentary will be an educational film about how we together can save our One World Ocean one wave at a time.

The microplastic fragments are easy to pick up so it's fun for everyone. It doesn't cost anything to join this monumental movement. Simply pick up some plastic fragments next time you go to the beach. That's it! Sharing on social media is also another way to create awareness.

WALK ON THE BEACH:

Go for a walk with us and enjoy the beach. As you walk, look towards the high tide mark in the sand and you'll see us there picking up plastic fragments. Oregonians and visitors alike can make a difference in just a few minutes by picking up the plastic fragments before they are swallowed by marine life and enter the food chain, disrupting fragile ecosystems.

DONATIONS:

Ocean Blue Project is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit so all donations are tax deductible. Please donate if you can. Thank you for your continued support and dedication for a cleaner rivers, beaches, and One World Ocean.
