MHCC will be the nation’s first Salmon Safe certified community college. The certification includes removing some of the 57 acres of impervious surfaces on campus that drain polluted stormwater directly into salmon-bearing Beaver and Kelly creeks, and replacing them with rain gardens that will capture and filter stormwater.
