WHAT: Critical blackberry removal project! Leach Garden Friends, Wisdom of the Elders, the Blueprint Foundation, and JCWC have teamed up with students from David Douglas High School, Lent MK-8 School and community volunteers over the next several years for native restoration on the “Back 5” acres at Leach Botanical Garden. This event supports the work that needs to be done to the area. More background: http://www.jcwc.org/leach-botanical-gardens-back-5-a-hidden-gems-hidden-gem/

WHAT TO BRING: Our events are rain or shine! Please dress for the weather: warm and rain layers, sturdy shoes. Feel free to bring a water bottle or coffee mug to fill up. We will provide snacks, beverages, tools and training.

WHO: Everyone is welcome-if you are under 18 and are planning to attend without a parent or guardian, your parent will need to sign a waiver which you will bring with you to the event. Contact courtney@jcwc.org to get this waiver!

Not all volunteer positions are non-native plant removal jobs! We have jobs for multiple abilities. Typical jobs include: Helping people sign in at the registration table, photography/videography, and litter pick-up are typically other options.
