Jackson Bottom offers a variety of natural history classes for adults. Some of our classes are appropriate for families with children. Please check the age requirements listed for each class and inquire if you have any questions. Some classes are free, some have a small fee where residents of Hillsboro enjoy a reduced cost. Pre-registration is required for all classes. CHECK OUT ALL OF OUR CLASSES - The 2017 Winter/Spring Classes brochure can be found on this page under “Related Documents” above and to your left.

Did you know that Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve is a facility of the City of Hillsboro Parks & Recreation Department? We have four miles of walking trails on over 600 acres of marsh and bottomland along the Tualatin River. Trails are open from dawn to dusk. A composting toilet is accessible in the parking lot dawn to dusk. Dogs and bicycles are NOT allowed. Some trails are flooded between November and April. Our Education Building is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day of the week except holidays. It contains an interpretive center, gift store, classroom, public restrooms, bird feeders, an expansive open-air deck with a view, and offices.
