Power Mapping is the project of placing the resources for resilience and change in and about an area on a map. In this presentation Wolky will discuss regional resilience, what power maps can do for environmental change, and how you could be involved. The project will be accomplished through research and interviews with government and non-profit employees that work on and in the Johnson Creek, as well as private citizens for a whole host of backgrounds.
Wolky is a graduate student at Oregon State university studying Science/Policy Literacy with a local environmental focus, who believes through accessible and collaborative information generation we can have a more democratic and sustainable society. Power Mapping is a kind of project that approaches democratizing information, resource availability, and community collaboration all at the same time.
