Join Friends of the Columbia Gorge at this free event to learn more about conservation issues in the Gorge, what you can do to be an environmental steward, and why it’s essential to always be prepared when hiking. Event Itinerary:
6:00 – 6:30 p.m. | Doors open, socializing and icebreaker activity
6:30 – 7:20 p.m. | Presentations:
+Mika Barrett, Stewardship Volunteer Coordinator, will speak about the post-Eagle Creek fire restoration efforts and simple ways you can be an environmental steward of the Gorge.
+Sophia Aepfelbacher, Membership Coordinator, will talk about the 10 Essentials for Every Hike. Sophia was one of the 153 hikers trapped by the Eagle Creek fire, come hear her story and learn how to prepare for your own hike.
+Michael Lang, Conservation Director, will provide information on legislation regarding oil trains traveling through the Columbia Gorge.
7:20 – 7:30 p.m | Raffle drawing and learn about ways you can get involved in preserving the Gorge
