Tualatin Riverkeepers, Clean Water Services, and the City of Beaverton invite local artists to transform a sidewalk storm drain into a vibrant, educational mural that tells the story of stormwater and its connection to the Tualatin River.
Water Connects Us. Every storm drain tells a story.
What enters a storm drain in Beaverton does not disappear. Rainwater travels through our neighborhoods, into local creeks, and eventually into the Tualatin River watershed. Along the way, it supports wildlife, shapes habitats, and connects communities.
This project invites artists to create a work that encourages residents and visitors to think differently about the relationship between our built environment and the natural systems that sustain us. Through creativity, artists can help reveal the often-unseen connections between our streets, waterways, and shared responsibility for protecting them.
Artists will receive:
A $2000 commission plus up to $500 for materials
Opportunities to connect with local organizations
Heightened visibility of your work throughout the Beaverton community and beyond
