Sleep in and give back to your community with Johnson Creek Watershed Council!
Join us on Saturday, April 27 from 12-3 p.m. for a satisfying day of making new friends and removing Ivy to support a healthy habitat in SE Portland!
This is an easy way to get involved, learn about the phases of restoration work and network with your neighbors. We'll be removing Ivy from the ground and trees to prepare the area for new plantings.
WHY: Ivy is an introduced species that has a profound and detrimental effect on the environment This plant is referred to as "invasive" due to the fact that it spreads quickly, climbing up (and killing) native trees, shrubs, and smaller native plants, which are important to healthy ecosystems and wildlife. But fast-growing plants like ivy make it difficult for them to survive.
We look forward to working with you! Please RSVP so that we have enough lemonade and snacks for the day!
