
Ride On The Wildside: Explore The Intertwine By Bike!
Explore The Intertwine, the region’s system of parks, trails and natural areas, by bicycle and get acquainted with the nature of nature in a rich array of natural-area parks. This bicycle-natural history series is co-sponsored by the Urban Greenspaces Institute, Audubon Society of Portland, and the Portland Bureau of Transportation. It will take you to some familiar and some not-so-familiar natural areas in Portland and the metro region.
Ride on the Wildside: Overlook Park to Smith and Bybee Lakes, is a 16-mile loop ride along the scenic Willamette Boulevard, North Peninsula Crossing Trail, Smith and Bybee Lakes, and back along the Columbia Slough.
Meet at 9 a.m. at N Overlook Boulevard and N Melrose in Overlook Park. There is an Overlook MAX Light Rail Station on N Interstate Boulevard on the east side of the park. Bring your bicycle and helmet (mandatory), water and lunch, and binoculars. Leader: Mike Houck.
All rides are free and open to anyone with a bicycle in good repair and a helmet.
