Portland author Daniel Mathews will give us an free overview of his new book, Natural History of the Pacific Northwest Mountains, (Timber Press) that describes more than 950 species of plants, animals, and mushrooms. With a scientist’s eye for detail and organization, and a novelist’s ear for compelling stories of the region’s plants, animals, and people, he brings the mountains alive. A book signing will follow.
