Stop invasive trees in their tracks! Join the Rose Village Neighborhood Association and Vancouver Urban Forestry for a short neighborhood walk to identify common non-native invasive trees such as the tree of heaven and black locust, share resources for managing their spread, and highlight appropriate replanting options.
Public awareness of invasive species is one of the most effective ways to minimize the impact they have on urban and natural areas. By the end of this workshop, attendees will feel more empowered to start a conversation with their neighbors about the impacts of nuisance trees.
Gloves and tools provided for those interested in practicing removing small invasive trees along the route. Light breakfast refreshments provided by non-profit Americans Building Community. RSVP is required as space is limited; call 360-487-8324 or email Urban Forestry.
