Milagro's El Payaso is a bilingual play focused on the work of Ben Linder, an environmental engineer and clown, who died while bringing electricity to rural villages in Nicaragua. Milagro and its partners hope that the play, in combination with an environmental curriculum for schools they are developing, will inspire a new generation to give back to their community and the environment.

Written by Emilio Rodriguez and directed by Georgina Escobar, had its bilingual world premiere January 12-21, 2017.

PROJECT UPDATES

Milagro held a free resource fair during El Payaso's two-week run to highlight groups doing environmental work. Groups with a presence at the January 15 fair included Friends of Trees and Verde. People who tabled at the event received a free ticket ($27 value) to the play that day.

Milagro hopes to connect with other Intertwine Alliance members who would like to be involved with its curricular work. If you’d like to talk, please email Dañel Malán at malan@milagro.org.
