Portland Community College's Therapeutic Learning Garden (TLG), the first healing and learning garden of its kind in the U.S., is under development on PCC's Sylvania Campus.
Years in the making, the TLG project was officially launched on February 24, 2017, when the on-campus land was formally committed and the topographic survey and Brain Bainnson's initial conceptual design were unveiled.
When completed, the TLG will provide pioneering, replicable curricula for creating healing sanctuaries and vibrant learning environments. The garden will become a cutting-edge hub of natural and neurological innovation that will benefit PCC faculty, staff and students, as well as members of the surrounding residential neighborhoods, the Portland metropolitan region, and beyond.
RESOURCES NEEDED | Intergenerational volunteers to serve on the Development and Programming Steering Committee, volunteers for building and planting projects during the development phase, and funding and referrals to potential donors during the site preparation stage currently in progress
