Rites of passage are a ceremonial way of marking change. Throughout history they have been an important cultural element for helping people process and accept the transformations that happen in the lives of individuals as well as communities through the seasons and years. Charles Purvis, who has led many rites of passage ceremonies for young men, will be giving a talk and holding a discussion on the topic in general. Come hear Charles’ experience and share your own.

Rewild Portland’s Free Skills Series is a family-friendly class and community event that happens monthly, usually (but not always) occurring on the last Saturday of the month. It is a place to meet new people and hang out with old friends while learning skills that connect us with humanity’s ancestral past and more local and sustainable future.
