Pugnacious Leaf-cutter Bee? Large Sweat Bee? Cuckoo Bee? If you like blueberries, cherries, or peaches, please introduce yourself to pugnacious and other Oregon native pollinators because much of the food we eat wouldn’t be here without them.
Join us at Leach Botanical Garden for a day exploring the wonderful world of the busy creatures that move flower pollen to pistils so that seeds can grow. (Sometimes through buzz pollination!) We’ll be out in the garden with nets, magnifying glasses and dissecting scopes, learning more about the connection between pollinators and flowers. We’ll also play fun games, and at the end of the day, you’ll construct a mason bee house to take home and attract pollinators to your own yard.
Ages 10-12 years.
