Do you like to be outside? Get your hands dirty? And help improve human health and the environment in just a few short hours? We are always looking for folks to dig-in and volunteer at Friends of Trees planting events. No tree planting experience needed, just a willingness to learn about trees! We will be planting in the neighborhoods of Piedmont and Woodlawn in N/NE Portland.
Please arrive to the staging site by 8:45am to enjoy breakfast treats and hot coffee or chocolate. The planting starts promptly at 9:00am. We provide gloves and tools, so all you need to do is show up dressed for the weather and wearing sturdy shoes or boots. Our neighborhood volunteers will also provide a potluck lunch for all volunteers after the planting is complete - we hope you can stay for it!
Looking to volunteer as a group? RSVPs are kindly requested for groups of more than 5 people - copy and paste this link http://www.friendsoftrees.org/volunteering/group-registration to do so. RSVPs are not required for individuals or groups of 4 or fewer -- you can simply show up!
For any volunteer under the age of 18 who will be planting WITHOUT their guardian, a pre-signed liability waiver is required on the day of the event: http://friendsoftrees.org/youthwaiver
Please contact Jenny or Pablo at (503) 595-0213 if you have any questions or need more information. We look forward to seeing you out there!
